Why Is It Called A Headshop?

Back in the day, Hippies were often called “Heads”. In the 60’s and 70’s when psychedelia and the Grateful Dead was popular, fans of the band were nick-named Dead Heads. This time in American culture was all about ‘Feeding Your Head’ as was made popular by a Jefferson Airplane song.
